How to get Google to notice you
Our friend, Lance Manning, CEO of Language MAPS (a Department of Homeland Security company), wrote an article on the value of federal programs for science-based funding which was published last month in Lab Outlook. In it, Lance features Larta’s work accelerating startups to commercial success, as well as two outstanding companies we have worked with – Lift Labs, and Cinder Biological. Lance tapped into the Lean Startup trend that is gaining popularity among funders who want to ensure the companies they invest in have a fighting chance in the competitive market. He discovered that Larta’s network-centric model of acceleration and the Lean Startup model are complementary methodologies with little overlap.
From the interview with Cinder Biological: “Q: How do you compare and contrast lean principles and the commercialization assistance program? A: They’re very complementary with not much overlap. The focus is different. Lean Startup got us out there to understand what the customer perspective is. The Larta support is focused on the company and business model, and how to structure the business to address customer needs. They are two sides of the same story–the customer side and business side.”
