Larta Active at BIO International Convention

Rohit Shukla, Constanza Pachon, and Carlos Gutierrez recently attended this year’s BIO Convention at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA. The event brought together more than 15,000 executives and startups from the biotechnology industry, and hosted serial entrepreneur Richard Branson and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (see article above, "BIO 2014: Notes from the Trenches").

Rohit Shukla served as a panelist at the “International Market Briefings - Accelerating the Development of Malaysia’s Economy through Game-Changing Transformation Programmes in AgBiotech, BioMedical and BioIndustrial Sectors” with representatives from the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation on Wednesday, 6/25. The session focused on Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), including the Bioeconomy Transformation Programme(BTP) which has been developed to provide a conducive environment for bio-based activities.

Shukla also spoke at the BIO - Trade & Investment Mission: Malaysia Investment Day, at the panel titled: ‘Business Opportunities in the Bio-based industry of Malaysia’ on Thursday, June 26th. The panel discussion highlighted Malaysia as the ideal location to venture into bio-based businesses.

Rohit Shukla and Carlos Gutierrez were actively involved in meeting and setting up meetings for SBIR companies featured in the BIO Innovation Zone on the Convention floor, between presenting companies present in the Zone and Larta's industry and global partners.  Shukla helped prepared some of the companies selected by BIO from a list of companies provided by NIH  for 13 minute presentations at the Convention's floor-side theater. They also brought Larta’s global and industry partners to the Innovation Zone and facilitated introductions between the presenting companies and our industry and global partners. Bayer, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Eli Lilly were among the partners that Larta connected with at the conference.
